Cauliflower Turmeric Mash

The perfect low starch, low glycemic solution to potato based mash...and you can barely tell the difference.

For a sweeter - try adding 1/2 a cooked pumpkin or 1 parsnip

Ingredients

1 medium head of cauliflower
1 tbsp of either grass fed butter, ghee, olive oil or coconut oil
1 tsp himalayan salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp turmeric powder (optional)
1/2 tsp ground cumin (optional)

 

Method

Steam cauliflower in a medium pot for 10 minutes until soft

Discard the water

Add oil or butter, salt, pepper, turmeric and cumin

Blend until smooth and creamy, using a hand held blender or a potato masher

Note: You can use parsnip instead of cauliflower. Parsnip is delicious and sweet
