Basil Pesto

This pesto is deliciously healthy, full of healthy fats that nourish the brain and colon and is dairy free. It's hero ingredient is pine nuts which is thought to reduce food cravings. More on nuts here. Super easy to make and worthy of your time.


2 cups basil
1/3 cup pine nuts
1/3 cup olive oil
1 garlic clove
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp Himalayan salt

Toast the nuts lightly over a medium heat frying pan for approx 3-5minutes.

Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender. I use Nutriboost Bullet blender.

Process until food becomes a smooth paste.

A great paste to use as a dressing in salads, over zucchini noodles, over fish, meat or as a dip using fresh raw vegetable sticks.
