A Cheeky Indulgent & Guilt-Free Christmas

I often get asked how do you indulge on christmas day in a healthy way, without feeling guilty, bloated and heavy afterward? I am going to let you in on a secret. I never deprive myself, in fact I "indulge" like most but with forethought and a contingency plan. Let's be honest though over eating is over eating and I have done a fair share of that on christmas day too which no amount of walking or apple cider vinegar can resolve.

My christmas day degustation often looks like this. Steal a few ideas and enjoy your festive season with a mind free from festive food anxiety.



Shortly after I wake I have 1 tbsp of Apple cider vinegar in 1/2 cup of room temperature water.


Breaking the fast

I chew on a smoothie that will satisfy my belly and mind so that I do not arrive at lunch starving and more inclined to reach for everything that comes into my vision. A good example of this Refresh and Revitalise Smoothie

Roasted Garlic-Onion Tahini Sauce

Home Made Creamy Hummus

Super Simple Chicken Liver Pate

I enjoy my dips with chopped - carrot, celery, capsicum, Gluten-Free Flat bread or Spicy Eggplant Chips


The Main Act 

Crispy Crackling Pork Belly

Hearty Fish Lasagne

Sautéed Broccoli and Mushrooms



Dessert - if you still have room

Sticky Date Pudding

Healthy Chocolate Pecan Brownie


Alcohol and other beverages

I like to enjoy a quality glass (or two) of organic, preservative free red wine or vodka and soda water. These days I rarely go beyond two glasses as it often leads to a sluggish start to the next morning and lots of loud snoring that my husband does not appreciate.
