Crunchy Beetroot Chips

Who would have thought I would be eating chips again. Beetroot chips that is. It's great to have a yummy, healthy alternative to the store bought potato chip and even more exciting that eventually I will be able to offer this to my children when I have them 🙂  Beetroots are naturally sweet and packed full of antioxidants, fibre, detox supportive compounds and minerals. They are amazing for detoxification, reducing inflammation and are cancer preventative. I am making use of my new dehydrator which I love but I am sure that these can be made on low heat in an oven.

Ingredients

4 medium organic beetroots, sliced thinly

1 clove garlic, crushed

1-2 tsp himalayan salt

2 tsp ground black pepper

 

Method

Place crushed garlic, salt and black pepper in medium bowl.

Place sliced beetroots in bowl and smear with garlic, salt and pepper.

Place in on dehydrator tray lined with baking paper at 50 degrees for 12 hours. (Depends on dehydrator)

Enjoy as a snack, entree or side dish. 🙂
